Color Doppler of the Right Ventricular Outflow Tract (RVOT) and Pulmonary Artery

Echocardiography Textbook

Normally, the flow in the Outflow Tract of the Right Ventricle and the Pulmonary Artery is observed in the systole phase.

For studying the flow in RVOT and PA by Color Doppler, the Best positions are Left Parasternal View the short Axis of the heart at the level of the Aorta, and Left Parasternal View the short Axis of the heart at the level of pulmonary Artery.

The flow is directed away from the transducer and accordingly encoded in blue color.
