LV Mass

Echocardiography Simulator

What about a little bit of theory before beginning the simulation? >>>

  • Run the Echocardiography Online Simulator

Method Area-Lenght:

  • From the List <<Positions>> Choose Parasternal Short PM (Left Parasternal View, Short axis of LV at the level of Papillary Muscles) or find same position with 3D Transducer
  • Click the button <<Freeze>> to freeze image. Using Slider find LV End-Diastolic frame.
  • Click Button <<Calculations>> Click Tab <<LV>> Click Radio Button <<A1>>
  • Click the button <<Curve>> place points around epicardium and Click the button <<Enter>>
  • Click Radio Button <<A2>> Click the button <<Curve>>  place points around endocardium (ignore papillary muscles) and Click the button <<Enter>>
  • Choose 4 chamber position from the List <<Positions>> or find 4 chamber position with 3D Transducer
  • Click the button <<Freeze>> to freeze image. Using Slider find LV End-Diastolic frame.
  • Click Button <<Calculations>> Click Tab <<LV>> Click Radio Button <<L(cm)>>
  • Measure LV long axis.
  • Click the button <<Enter>>

  • Choose 4 chamber position from the List <<Positions>> or find 4 chamber position with 3D Transducer
  • Click the button <<Freeze>> to freeze image. Using Slider find LV End-Diastolic frame.
  • Click Button <<Calculations>> Click Tab <<LV>> Click Radio Button <<a>>
  • Measure distance from the minor axis to the endocardium (see Linear measurements).
  • Click Radio Button <<b>>
  • Measure LV minor radius (see Linear measurements).
  • Click Radio Button <<d>>
  • Measure distance from the minor axis to the mitral valve plane (see Linear measurements).
  • Click the button <<Enter>>
